A FAMILY in Llansoy is still desperately searching for the dog they believe was stolen more than 10 months ago.

The Eastabrook family have not given up hope of finding border collie Max, who disappeared from the family home last December.

Mother-of-three Michelle is doing all she can to spread the word about the distinctive-looking dog, with posters and constant scouring of social media and the internet. She said: “I won’t give up.

“Until I know one way or the other what’s happened, I won’t give up.”

The family have even posted a substantial reward for the return of the dog.

Max was 11 months old when he was taken from a secure kennel alongside the Llansoy farmhouse when Michelle had briefly been out on the afternoon school run. Police apparently were not available at the time to investigate the disappearance.

The friendly collie has a distinctive black back, white ruff and a white patch between his eyes which stretches along his right cheek across to the back of his head.

The Eastabrooks had only rehomed Max four months before the disappearance, which sparked the start of a difficult year for the family. The children’s second dog and two ponies died of old age in the following months, and they were even targeted by hoax phone calls relating to Max’s disappearance. One attempted to extort money from the family as part of a nationwide scam.

Michelle added: “We’ve got to do everything we can and keep putting his picture out there.

“We just want our dog back.”
