SIR,

Why is it that when somebody raises a concern about how the EU appears to be dictating our own way of life they are branded a xenophobe?

Are people not entitled to a Eurosceptic view without being lambasted with this emotive language as Darren Douglas did in his response to Gareth Dunn's concerns?

To dismiss the example of the Abu Qatada ruling as 'flimsy', Mr Douglas displays little or no knowledge of this person's background.

I suggest at the very least he Googles Qatada to see that we are now obliged to look after an extremely dangerous person as decided by the European Court of Human Rights against the decision of our own Law Lords.

A Human Rights judgement made by a court that has judges from at least 12 countries, which include Albania and Serbia, who in recent years have shown scant regard for such rights.

It's rulings like this that are turning my views, and I suspect many others, to be more sceptical of European integration.
