AFTER 20 years of being in Monnow Street, since 2005 an independent shoe and accessory shop, Envee will be closing.

Yvonne Perry, the owner of Envee is stepping away from the business as she has other projects she would like to finish and start.

“I’ve had 20 fantastic years; my customers have been absolutely amazing.”

“It’s just too hard, you know you’ve only got to have one road closure and people will adopt another town as a segregate shopping destination and then hope when they come back that we’re all still the same.”

When Yvonne first wanted to start a business, she was originally unsure of what town but decided on Monmouth after she had spoken to the previous owners who were previously under the name, ‘Spiritual warriors.’

Having curiosity about what to specialise in, the idea of high end, Italian ladies' footwear was ignited.

Yvonne set up at a Christmas Fayre to put her idea to the test to do a trial run and it turned out be successful. - even going to Italy to see the quality of the material.

“I have had 20 wonderful years, but it’s time for me to step away from it.”

Despite closing Yvonne is on to exciting future projects ahead, including opening a holiday let.
