The Savoy Youth Theatre are once again, treading the professional boards with the exciting and innovative theatre company Hummadruz, in the unique and inclusive production ‘Amazing Stories from Wales’.

Hummadruz is famous for its spectacular black light performances all over Wales, and you can see their final show at the Savoy Theatre Monmouth, 22nd November 2025.

Their latest show will captivate audiences with their inclusive show suitable for all. Performed totally under UV light to an original score, you’ll see dragons, dinosaurs and aliens in a unique form of storytelling using puppets, circus skills, illusion and dance.

Ten Savoy Youth Theatre students will perform alongside the professional artists, in ‘When Dragons Come Home’ the first part of the show. This year for SYT it’s doubly special as they announce that one of their regular tutors, Greg Densham, and alumnus of SYT is performing, and his expertise with puppets is really coming in handy.

As an actor/director with autism, Greg has faced many challenges and is delighted that Hummadruz and Stu Bawler (founder) have made him feel welcomed into the company. The youth theatre members love Greg and are thrilled to know he is there to support them through their little piece within the show.

Holly Ayling, who started out with the theatre group when she was about 8 is now moving into the professional world and this show will be her professional debut. You would have seen both Holly and Greg in last years panto at the Savoy of ‘Robin Hood’. Holly was stepping up for her final year in SYT and Greg bringing his unique style of comedy to the part of ‘Guy’.

A spokesman for Spontaneous Productions said: “We are saddened that the Savoy Youth Theatre will miss out on the amazing opportunities offered in the professional panto at the Savoy. Unfortunately Spontaneous Pros, has had to move onto pastures new but has promised to continue to offer professional opportunities for us in many of their exciting new productions all over South Wales including this collaboration with Hummadrus, all done with the same pace, excitement and heart that our audiences have come to love.”
