A REMINDER not to miss the opportunity to attend this year’s Monmouth Medieval Festival. The festival will take place this weekend bringing excitement and entertainment to the community.
This year’s Medieval Festival is taking place on July 4 and 5 at multiple sites around Monmouth, including Vauxhall Fields, Monnow Bridge and Monmouth Castle.
Over the years it has become a prime event as it brings people together from in and around the area. A full itinerary of events have been organised on both Vauxhall Fields and Monmouth Castle.
Event’s will take place over both Vauxhall Fields and Monmouth Castle, Vauxhall Fields spread all across the town. The day is suitable for everyone and will host the reenactment camp.
Event’s over the weekend, include:
Vauxhall Fields
10.30am - 11.15am - Dressing a knight
11am and 3.15 pm – Origami
11.45am - 12.15pm and 2.45pm to 3.15pm - Falconry Flying Displays
1.30pm - 2.50pm - Peasant to Lord
2.30pm - 2.50pm - Children in the middle ages
3.15pm - 4pm – Arming a knight
4pm – 4.30pm - Dressing an archer and archery display
Axe throwing will also be available throughout the day on Sunday only and there will also be traders displaying and selling arts, crafts and refreshments.

11.15am - Sword Demonstration
12pm – Castle Tour
1.30pm - Kids sword school
Monnow Bridge Gate House
To take a look back into Monmouth’s history there will be a chance to have tours at Monnow Bridge gate house. The tours will be open from 10am –12pm and 1pm – 3pm.
The Savoy Theatre will also be holding screenings of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves at 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
This weekend will bring both community fun and enjoyment to the town which people can enjoy with friends and family.
