The bestselling author of Storyland, Saints and Wild will talk about her new book on the Arthurian Legends in Ross-on-Wye on Thursday October 8 at 6.30pm.

Jeffs is an art historian specialising in the Middle Ages and holds a PhD in Art History from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. She has worked in the British Library’s department of Ancient, Medieval and Early Modern manuscripts.

A highly talented print maker working primarily in linocut and wood engraving, Jeffs included many of her prints in her debut publication Storyland which was a critically acclaimed history of British folklore.

Drawing on the original work of Geoffrey of Monmouth, Arthur: A New Life retells the legend of King Arthur with fresh energy, pace and research, from Merlin's conception to the abduction of Guinevere and the ambitious quest for empire. Alongside the legends and meticulous research sit more of Jeffs’ beautiful artwork.

At the event, Jeffs will be in conversation with historian, author and Gone Medieval podcast host Matt Lewis.

The ‘Gone Medieval’ show explores a full millennium of history from roughly 500 to 1500 AD, often joined by expert guests and co-hosts like Dr. Eleanor Janega.

Matt focuses heavily on medieval England, particularly the Wars of the Roses and Richard III and chairs the Richard III Society and works full-time with History Hit hosting podcasts and presenting historical documentaries. He also hosts the Echoes of History podcast
