Having successfully met their fundraising target for the new launch tractor for the Beachley Station, Mary Miller, SARA lead for the Beachley New Building Fundraising has turned her attention to raising £60k for a shed to put it in!!
The Severn Area Rescue Association has been allocated a plot of land in the ideal position as part of a planning application for a new residential development on the site of the old Ferry Inn but need to fund the construction.
The tractor will be larger than the current vehicle and will not fit in the space in the boathouse where the current one lives – but it is really tight for space there, and a little more room will really help with the storage of equipment, space to carry out maintenance on the boats and space in the changing room.
They are also hoping that local construction industry businesses including materials suppliers, CDM professionals, engineers, trades and anyone else who can help this project happen would be interested in being a part of it. If this could be you or your organisation please get in touch with Mary Miller at [email protected] to discuss.
To help raise funds, they are holding a Ceilidh, on the eve of midsummer, at the Chepstow Drill Hall with local band and caller Cat's Claw. Food will be provided by Poppy and Fig - a local caterer gaining a big reputation. The music, from the Tintern band, will be a mixture of traditional Welsh, Scottish and English tunes that will get everybody foot stomping and up to join in the fun.
The event is taking place on 20th June at 7pm. Tickets at £25/person are available at A Midsummer Ceilidh in aid of our new Launch tractor Home | SARA (Severn Area Rescue Association) or use the QR code
