The Blake Theatre, Monmouth are hosting an intimate evening on June 19 of conversation with the much-loved broadcaster and presenter of Escape to the Country and Countryfile, following the publication of his new book Wild at Heart.
This special evening with Jules will cover some of his thirty years working in television, his love of archaeology and military history, country living, craft and making, as well as Britain's landscape and heritage. If you've watched him on screen, you already know what to expect: warmth, good humour, and the kind of stories that don't make it into a 45-minute episode. Jules's autobiography, Wild at Heart: My Journey to a Country Life, was published in this. It traces his path from urban Essex to the countryside, through Sandhurst, archaeology, and three decades of broadcasting.
As a Monmouthshire local, he has said how important it is to come to Monmouth with his new book, as the area is where he has shaped his family life with his wife Tania and their son Jack, and he feels especially linked to the Blake theatre and Haberdasher’s Monmouth School.
A familiar face with home viewers for decades, fronting hit shows and becoming one of the best-known faces of rural life, he’ll be at the Blake Theatre for a warm and inclusive ‘in conversation’ evening, followed by a Q&A.
Books will be available to purchase on the evening, and ticketholders will be able to get £4 off the retail price, so why not get yours signed and have a chat with Jules while he does it?!
Tickets are £26 (+booking fee) and available from the Blake Theatre box office, in person, online on over the phone.
Start time 7.30pm, and the Blake bar open at the usual time of 6.30pm.
