Emergency crews rescued a 84-year-old man from the River Monnow yesterday (Tuesday).
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the Monnow Bridge at 1.10pm.
A man was pulled from the river by fire crews before being treated in an ambulance and taken to Abergavenny's Nevill Hall Hospital.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "Officers attended the New Monnow Bridge, Monmouth, after we received a call reporting that a man had fallen into the river.
"There are no suspicious circumstances."
