Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools will be switching to online teaching from Thursday January 7, 2021.

Last summer during the first UK lockdown, the schools delivered a hugely successful online teaching programme, Habsmonmouth Online.

"At 6pm yesterday (Monday January 4), the Welsh Education Minister announced that all schools in Wales will now switch to online teaching and will not re-open until January 18 at the earliest for face-to-face lessons," explained Principal, Mr James Murphy-O’Connor.

"As with the previous lockdown, our family of schools will remain open for children where both parents are key workers.

"We will be sending a survey to all parents using School Post, in order to assess demand for both day and boarding places under this provision for key workers."

He continued: "We currently have around 30 boarders who remained with us over the Christmas holidays and we will, of course, continue to offer them our total support and care as they too will switch to online studies from Thursday.

"We will be in touch with parents of pupils in Years 11 and 13 with further details once arrangements for this summer’s GCSE and A level assessments become clearer.

"Thank you in advance to our parents for the on-going support as, together, we face this latest challenge to keep any disruption to our children’s education to an absolute minimum."
