PLANS to build a dormer bungalow at Cwm Newydd Farm, Monmouth have been recommended for refusal by Monmouthshire County Council (MCC).
The site in question is a small paddock situated between agricultural buildings and the existing Cwm Newydd farmhouse.
The proposed house would measure 13m in length, 9m in depth with a ridge height of 6.5m and a total floor area of 146 square metres.
Despite the dimensions and materials used to construct the house, it has been recommended for refusal as it fails to satisfy required tests set out by the Welsh Government in its planning for sustainable rural communities.
The planning report says the home would represent an unwarranted introduction of a new dwelling in the open countryside and that this would contradict the national and local planning policy.
MCC's planning committee will meet next Tuesday (5th May) to discuss the plans.
