SIR,
We took my mother-in-law in her wheelchair for a family meal on Sunday to the Robin Hood in Monmouth which was excellent.
We had hoped to park in one of the disabled spaces just outside but found them all full with cars without blue badges. On checking the waiting notices I discovered that the restriction does not apply on Sundays so the spaces are not reserved.
I find it a perverse decision to deny this help to the disabled on a Sunday, especially when there is ample free parking in the adjacent car park. Perhaps the planners believe that the disabled are magically healed on the Sabbath.
I would be interested in an explanation from someone involved in the decision, if they can come up with one.
