SIR, There have been lots of letters about whether or not charging for Waitrose parking is legal, and the availability of parking places. Personally I'm not bothered by these issues. What I do find extraordinary is that after years of using their store, Waitrose is, in effect, telling me they don't want my custom anymore as I don't spend enough. Before parking charges were introduced I used to visit Waitrose three or four times each week spending around £10-£20 each visit. I rarely, however, spent less than half an hour in the shop or spent more than £25. There is nothing special about Waitrose that would make me pay £7.50 - £10 a week for the pleasure of visiting their store. There are other supermarkets and shops in Monmouth who want my custom and don't charge me for the privilege of shopping there. I've taken the hint and have stopped shopping in Waitrose since the parking charges were introduced and will continue to take my custom elsewhere. Tony Falla (Mitchel Troy)
