THREE people were taken to hospital last week after two separate collisions in Monmouthshire.
Two women were taken to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny after a Citroën Saxo left the B4347 about a mile north of Newcastle last Wednesday (2nd June).
The car hit a bank after failing to take the corner at a spot known as the Old Boot (pictured, right and below).
There were no other vehicles involved.
Police from Abergavenny and Monmouth attended the scene, as did the ambulance service.
The two female occupants, one staying locally, were treated at the scene by local residents until paramedics arrived.
Both suffered cuts and bruising and were taken to hospital in two separate ambulances.
Police said neither was seriously injured.
At 8.15am last Thursday (3rd June), a car left the northbound A40 close to the Dixton roundabout and ended up in a hedge (below right).
The male driver is thought to have been distracted by a bird of prey at the side of the road and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Police said he did not suffer any serious injury and there were no other vehicles involved.
