A MAN has pleaded guilty to burgling a home in the Hendre in which First World War medals and jewellery were stolen.

Gareth Spacey of Wern Isaf, Dowlais appeared in Newport Crown Court last Thursday (19th March) and pleaded guilty to attempted burglary.

The 31-year-old appeared with David Ross Martin of Heol-Y-Bryniau, Merthyr Tydfil who was also charged with domestic burglary in the Hendre. He is yet to make a plea but will return to Newport Crown Court for a plea and management case hearing on Friday 8th May. Spacey will also appear on Friday 8th May for sentencing.

The pair appeared via video link from HMP Cardiff.
