A CHEPSTOW couple died from multiple stab wounds, an inquest has heard.

Nigel Henderson, 52, and Stacey Henderson, 35, were found dead at their home in Ruffet's Close on Friday 19th June.

An inquest into their deaths was opened last Thursday (25th June) at Newport Coroner's Court and adjourned for three months pending further investigation.

Mrs Henderson's death is now being treated as 'suspicious' by Gwent Police, while Mr Henderson's death is being treated as non-suspicious.

Officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Jon Lewis of Gwent Police told the court that Mr Henderson was found with stab wounds to his trunk and chest, and Mrs Henderson was found with stab wounds to her chest.

Both were stabbed in the heart.

A post-mortem conducted by Dr Richard Jones at the Royal Gwent Hospital declared the stab wounds as the provisional cause of death for both Mr and Mrs Henderson.

Coroner Wendy James has released both bodies so funeral arrangements can commence.

Mystery surrounded the couples' deaths last week, as police initially described their deaths as 'unexplained.'
