MONMOUTHSHIRE County Council’s corporate parenting team hosted a Thank You event at Caldicot Castle on Thursday 28th June to celebrate the outstanding dedication of Foster Carers in Monmouthshire.
Foster carers were invited to the castle for afternoon tea and received beautiful flowers, certificate and words of recognition for their continued dedication and care of babies, children and young people who need a helping hand from loving supportive families.
In attendance were carers who have been fostering for varied lengths of time. The team were proud to celebrate all carers and were particularly pleased to be able to thank local Foster Carers who have been with the council for over 25 years.
Cllr Penny Jones, Cabinet Member for Social Care and Health, chair of Corporate Parenting Panel said: “I am delighted to see so many of our carers at the event, it is so important to recognise and celebrate our Foster Carers. They play such an important role in the lives of some of our vulnerable children and young people. For those who were not able to attend I ‘thank you’ and hope to see you at future events. The Monmouthshire Fostering Team provide excellent support and advice and I urge anyone considering becoming a carer to get in touch”.
Fostering is an amazing, rewarding role which can last anything from 5 months to 25 years, the team are always looking for more people who can help babies, children and young people.
