Sir,

Yet again I see Monmouthshire County Council are trying to paper over the lack of accommodation at Monmouth Comprehensive School by erecting more portable buildings as classrooms.

What do we have to do to have our children educated in a state-of-the-art facility like those recently built in Newport?

I also notice that they have been erected on a play area by the tennis courts, thus diminishing further an area where the students can play without having to use a muddy playing field.

I assume the council have plans for the remaining tennis courts, too?

When is the chief executive going to step up and publically acknowledge that a centre of educational excellence such as Monmouth Comprehensive is being let down by the council's failure to provide a 21st Century school for the town and its surrounding cachment area, or is the erecting of portable buildings the limit of support we can expect?
