At a meeting of the Finance and Policy committee on Monday evening, councillors recommended to close the Town Council's Facebook page.

The site had been open since June 2012 and apart from a lively period of correspondence debating whether the council should join the CCTV scheme it had been mainly inactive.

It was confirmed that the Town Council website would remain open and all Town Council business would continue to be reported there. The public could still contact the council via phone, letters or email.
