ALTERATIONS have been made to county-wide drop-in sessions that were released by Monmouthshire County Council last week.
Monmouthshire's county councillors visited Caldicot on Tuesday 17th February and will visit Usk on Thursday 19th February to meet residents and discuss issues with them. This is an amendment to a previous notice from the council that stated that the event in Caldicot would be held on Thursday 19th February while the Usk event would be held two days previously.
Councillors will also provide guidance on how residents can become involved in the council's decision-making process. These events follows a similar one in Abergavenny last year which was well received.
Councillors took part in drop-in sessions within the market at Caldicot town centre on Tuesday 17th February from 10am to 1pm and will be at Usk's Maryport Street (northern) car park on Thursday 19th February from 10am to 1pm. Further events are planned for Chepstow and Monmouth next month.
Council leader Peter Fox who takes responsibility for the democratic process in Monmouthshire said: "We are always keen to engage with residents whether face to face, during informal events, meetings, through correspondence or by using social media.
"We are aware that we have a duty to be accountable to residents and we look forward to meeting them in Usk".
