THE death of 50-year-old Chepstow woman Karen Lewis was ruled as misadventure by the Newport Coroners Court on Friday 24th November.
Mrs Lewis was killed on 19th March when the vehicle she was driving crashed on the B4293 in Llanishen at 11.45pm.
Senior coroner for Gwent David Bowen recorded a verdict of death by misadventure which is death caused accidentally while performing an intended action with an unintended outcome.
In the circumstances detailed by the court, Mrs Lewis had been socialising at a pub when she was involved in a disagreement and was then seen to leave at speed.
Some time later Mrs Lewis was found in a field and police enquires found her car had failed to negotiate a slight right hand bend and clipped a bank and rolled into a field.
At the time of her death Mrs Lewis’ husband said in a tribute: “She was a kind, caring, sweet person adored by many who came into contact with her, but more so by me.
“She will be sadly missed by many but especially family, and I would like to thank all those that have given their condolences.”
