On behalf of chamber members I would like to wish Councillor Gerry Bright many congratulations on his appointment as Monmouth Mayor and we look forward to working closely with him over the coming year.
I have spoken to the new mayor on many occasions over the last 12 months and he has expressed his belief that a prosperous business community is essential for a vibrant town.
He has also shown his dedication to the concept of civic pride with his tireless quest to stamp out litter problems and his generous nature with a great deal of support on the evenings of last year's Festival.
