SIR, The Monmouth Town Council Planning Committee will be making its recommendation on the new Monmouth Comprehensive School, including new swimming pool, on Monday 30th March in the Council Chamber of the Shire Hall. The meeting will begin at 6pm to discuss other business and from 7pm will consider the Comprehensive redevelopment proposals. The meeting is open to the public who may ask questions or make comments about the proposals. Full details can be found on the Monmouthshire planning portal application number DC/2015/00261. The plans include construction of a new school for 1,600 pupils with a four lane swimming pool 25m x 8.5m. Following our recommendation, the county council will make its decision sometime thereafter.
