It is a tradition in Wyesham WI that the July meeting is light-hearted and always features a buffet (contributed to by all members) and a supersize raffle.

This year was no exception and the buffet and raffle brought a most enjoyable evening to a close. The entertainment was provided by the very splendid and talented Ukes Uv Azzard ukelele band, led by Kevan Baggy, who kept us informed on the tunes throughout (see photo attached). The band brought along a lot of percussion instruments and encouraged ladies to join in with the songs and add their musical talents with rattles. shakers and even the triangle.

The band is based in the Forest of Dean and appear all over the area and beyond. Their fees always go to support local charities. Their repertoire has been described as "upbeat rock and roll" and the evening certainly did go with a swing and a fabulous time was had by all. Assistant Treasurer Jackie Jones reported on our successful spring fayre and Roslyn gave details of the afternoon tea in August, which will replace the usual day trip, as coaches are quite expensive these days.

A most enjoyable evening drew to a close. Wyesham WI will next meet on Monday 14th September in St James Community Hall at 7pm. New members warmly welcomed.
