MADAM, Your readers may be aware that a new bill covering public health issues such as nicotine and tobacco, cosmetic piercings, tattooing, public toilets and pharmacy services has been introduced by the Welsh Government. If this bill becomes law, using e-cigarettes would be prohibited in enclosed public spaces, there would an age restriction on getting an intimate piercing, people carrying out acupuncture, electrolysis, body piercing and tattooing would need to be licensed and local authorities will need to assess how many public toilets are needed in their communities. The National Assembly's Health and Social Care Committee has the task of gathering views on the proposals set out in the bill and to report on our conclusions. This bill would affect the lives of people in Wales, so I would encourage your readers to send us their comments. There are many different ways for people to submit their views – through twitter @seneddhealth, by emailing [email protected]">[email protected]s or by writing to the committee at the National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff Bay, CF99 1NA. Responses should be received by 4th September 2015. The bill and further information on submitting a written response can be found on the Committee's website.
