THE Monmouth branch of The Co-operative supermarket has named Bridges Community Centre as its local charity for 2014-2015, and raised £700 through the collection boxes at till points.

Mark Walton, Bridge's centre director, was delighted to receive this money on behalf of the community centre and said: "I would like to thank all the staff at the Co-op for their support over the past year and, in particular, Mo McGrath, who suggested and organised the collection.

"This money will be put to very good use to help improve facilities for all our users at our very busy centre, which is serving the needs of a large section of the community.  

"We really appreciate this very generous gesture and all the members of the public who have contributed to it."
