Forest of Dean Motor Club presented the Forest of Dean Children's Opportunities Centre in Coleford a cheque for £5,066 last Wednesday night (27th July).
The proceeds were raised at a fundraising evening held at Cinderford Rugby Club.
Yet again it shows the good work the motor club does within the community, as it has raised a serious amount of money for local charities over the years.
"We are all so grateful to the Forest of Dean Motor Club, especially Martyn Walby, Paul Willetts and their team, this money far outweighed our expectations and means so much to the centre, and what it can do for the children," said centre manager Marilyn Smith.
"We were only too pleased to help the centre, when you go there and see what marvellous work Marilyn and her staff do for the children, it opens your eyes to their need for funding," said motor club vice-chairman Martyn Walby.
"People don't realise what good work the Forest of Dean Motor Club does for local charities, especially in recent years a lot of money has been donated to worthwhile causes."
The club would like to thank Paul Gunter and Graham Waite for taking their cars along, and Tom Marrott of TWM Photography
