SIR,

On behalf of the Mayor Councillor Mrs Jeana Hall, and members of Monmouth Town Council, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everybody that took part in the parade to mark the occasion of the Civic Service on Sunday 6th June.

There was a great deal of support from a variety of different groups and organisations which helped make the afternoon a celebration to remember.

The Mayor's address was given entirely in verse, and covered the various facets of Monmouth, both current and historical, as well as highlighting the role of the council to help people wherever possible.

The Mayors charities for the year are to be Wyesham Girl Guides, RNLI, and ABF, The Soldiers Charity.

Many thanks once again to all of those volunteers who have freely given of their time last week to keep alive this wonderful tradition that Monmouth enjoys each year.

Sue James

(Town Clerk –

Monmouth Town Council)
