St Mary’s Priory Church is to be commended for arranging the General Election Hustings and providing a valued opportunity for voters to engage directly with the various main political party candidates standing in the Monmouthshire constituency.
The event stands in marked contrast with the voters of Uxbridge and South Ruislip, who have evidently been deprived of the possibility and democratic right to question their own constituency Tory candidate. Obviously the Prime Minister does not believe in leading by example. Likewise, Boris Johnson - a notorious avoider of detailed public forensic scrutiny, has chosen not be interviewed by the BBC Andrew Neil and ITV Julia Etchingham, presumably following advice from his chosen special advisor and puppet-on-a-string arch manipulator - Dominic Cummings.
Together with his fellow Oxford Bullingdon Club members, it would seem that the self-styled political elite exhibit an intrinsic attitude of unwarranted self-entitlement, lack of democratic transparency and accountability, and personal disdain for the electorate whose welfare they shamelessly purport to represent. Clearly an over-weaning and determined adolescent ambition to be the first among un-equals has essentially been the sole raison d’etre for Boris Johnson’s political life journey. Exemplified by his opportunistic championing of the perceived will of the people, and allied illusionary repetitive brain-numbing mantras Get Brexit done - not to mention Brexit means Brexit!
