THE Christmas spirit was well and truly alive in Monmouth as 65 people gathered for the ‘Christmas Together’ lunch on Christmas day.

The lunch is held for those who might not have a place to go on Christmas day and all involved sat down to enjoy food, music and most of all, company.

The event is run by the Wyesham Christian Fellowship and for the first time this year Christmas Together was spread over two venues with the Monmouth Methodist Church also taking part.

Ian Roberts, Pastor at the Wyesham Christian Fellowship said: “Thank you again to everyone across the local community who supported us so generously.

“Businesses and individuals donated money, food, and time and we hope you are as blessed in giving as we were receiving.

“One example of the spirit of the occasion was given by the Wyesham washing up team who, having spent almost the whole afternoon at the sink chatting and laughing left at the end with the comment, “Same place next year?”
