MEMBERS of Raglan Barnardos' Helpers' Group presented a cheque for £3,800 to Barnardo fund raisers Eileen Denekamp and Alison England at Raglan Parc Golf Club.
The money was raised at the highly successful torchlit carol service, held at Raglan Castle in December. Around 2,000 people attended the event which was climaxed by the arrival of Father Christmas and his team of reindeer.
"It was a magical evening," said Mrs Denekamp. She thanked the Group for working tremendously hard not only in organising the carol service but also two preceding fund raising events. "They may not see the children this will help but on their behalf I'd like to thank them.
"These funds will go towards helping the many disabled and disadvantaged children in Wales."
Mrs Denekamp presented the Group's Chairman, Mr Andrew Watkins, with a certificate in recognition of the Group's outstanding support and commitment to children, young people and their families.
