Chepstow Radio broadcast its first FM radio programme on Monday (9th December).
The radio station was granted its FM licence last month meaning it is broadcasting on digital radio via 87.7 FM until Sunday 5th January.
Audience figures are expected to rise from 4,500 to 20,000 in the time Chepstow Radio is on FM.
Alex Stanley, founder of Chepstow Radio, said: "Our first live show on 87.7FM was an absolute hoot. So many people got in touch with us while we were in the studio, and we hope that we made them feel part of the Chepstow Radio family.
"Interestingly the number of listeners on our internet stream increased too, which we weren't expecting.
"All in all, it was a fantastic first day as a true broadcaster and we're looking forward to many more to come."
Reporters Laura Watkins and Sarah Bewley are presenting their news show, the Beacon Sandwich on Chepstow Radio every Saturday from 12pm to 1pm.
