A Chepstow author is busy on her third book as well as providing workshops for aspiring student authors.
Mandy Aubrey-Burden, better known as Mandy Chambers, is just about to self-publish her third book ‘Custard ‘n’ Service’ which is a light-hearted memoir of 30 years working in the hospitality business.
This is now out in paperback and available from Amazon only, priced at £5.99. The current project she is working on is the life story of top award-winning coach Tony Borg of St. Joe’s Gym, Newport. Besides being an old school friend, Mandy also has a boxing background; her father used to run Driscoll’s Gym in Cardiff and Joe Erskine was her uncle, so she was the natural choice for Tony.?“This is a great opportunity for me as Tony has a stable full of champions; Lee Selby, World Featherweight Champion, to name but one and the biography will be entitled Megan’s Boy” she said. “We have already had interest from a couple of publishers and work has already begun”.
Following on from her successful visit to Wyedean earlier this year, she is keen to offer similar workshops to other schools in the area, so if you would like Mandy to come along, contact her on via her email address mandyboh1205@outlook. com
The photo above was taken at the gym in Newport where there was a public day for a forthcoming match that featured Andrew Selby, Lee’s younger brother and is a mix of coaches, fighters and friends of Mandy’s.
