CALDICOT Library's Susan Seeraj has been spreading cheer across the county as part of her role as outreach officer.

As part of her position, Susan is responsible for delivering books into people's homes.

This service is available to anyone in Monmouthshire who finds it difficult to visit their local library because of mobility issues, ill-health or frailty.

The library can deliver up to 20 books per customer in all formats (ordinary print, large print and audio).

The service is completely free (there is no charge for requests or overdue items), and books can be delivered on a three week rota.

Susan's rounds had added sparkle last Thursday (16th July) as Susan met another "white van man" out in the community giving out free bunches of flowers!

The gentleman from Tesco insisted Susan take some of the flowers and she then presented them to the residents at her next stop, The Priory Care Home in Llandogo.

Pictured is Susan presenting Jack Hamer, 94 (a former librarian and avid reader) with a bunch of flowers and his library books.

A spokesperson for Caldicot Library said: "Our grateful thanks to Tesco for such a kind gesture, and to Jack and The Priory Care Home".
