SIR,
Rotary International (Britain and Ireland) has charged its member clubs to be on the streets this coming weekend collecting in aid of those devastated in Japan.
Monmouthshire County Council have speedily granted us the necessary street collection permit, so all we need now is the usual generous response from the Monmouth public to provide shelterboxes for desperately needed temporary tented accommodation, as well as living aids such as water purifiers.
