SIR,

May I, on behalf of the Chairman and Committee of the ABF The Soldiers' Charity thank the people of Monmouth for their support on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th July. It is very heartening in the present financial climate that people can still show such generosity. The total raised was £935.85.

Very many thanks to all the volunteers who freely gave their time to organise these days or collect in the street.

The Soldiers' Charity not only supports young soldiers and their families, but also retired and ageing veterans who have very different needs. We work with the Royal British Legion, SSAFA, BLESMA, and Combat Stress to support soldiers of all ages and situations.
