OLYMPIC champion and World Record holder, Chris Boardman, will be pedalling his way to Monmouth in June.

As part of their busy author events programme, Rossiter Books will be hosting an evening with gold medal-winning racing cyclist Chris Boardman. The event takes place on Tuesday 14th June at The Blake Theatre, Monmouth. 7pm start.

Among his many achievements, the 47-year-old repeatedly claimed the yellow jersey in the Tour de France and inspired a generation of celebrated cyclists including Sir Bradley Wiggins and Sir Chris Hoy.

Known as the founding father of current golden generation of British cyclists, Chris became a legend for his combination of physical ability and technical preparation, almost single-handedly taking British cycling from wool shirts and cloth caps into the era of marginal gains. Indeed, after his career on the bike ended, a new chapter began as the backroom genius behind GB cycling.

As head of the R&D team known as The Secret Squirrel Club, Chris has been responsible for the technical innovations that made the difference in 2012 and developed Boardman Bikes, which has become the country’s bestselling premium bike range.

Boardman will be in conversation with author, journalist and cycling enthusiast Rob Penn. It promises to be an eye-opening evening as he shines a light on the whole of British cycling. There will also be an opportunity for audience questions.
