As we step into a brand-new year, there’s a very special milestone to celebrate in Dingestow – Sue Rigsby marks her first anniversary as a Slimming World Consultant on January 1st.

In just 12 months, her supportive group has helped members achieve something truly extraordinary: a combined weight loss of 1,921.5 lbs – that’s an incredible 137 stone!

Sue says: “I’m so proud of every single member. This achievement isn’t just about numbers – it’s about confidence, health, and happiness. Seeing people transform their lives and feel empowered is why I love what I do.”

Alongside celebrating members’ amazing weight-loss successes, Sue has been busy making a difference in the wider community. This year, she took part in Race for Life in Cardiff, joining thousands to raise funds for life-saving cancer research. Her members also embraced the spirit of giving through The Big Slimming World Clothes Throw, donating the clothes they’ve slimmed out of to Cancer Research UK.

Slimming World’s partnership with Cancer Research UK began in 2013, and initiatives like the Clothes Throw, Race for Life sponsorship, and the Slimming World London Marathon Team have helped members, Consultants, and staff raise vital funds for essential research. Sue says: “It’s incredible to see how our groups not only change lives through weight loss but also contribute to something so meaningful.”

As Sue celebrates her first year, Slimming World is also embracing exciting updates to make healthy living even easier and more enjoyable.

Healthy Fats Take Centre Stage Avocado, olive oil, nut butters – these nutritious foods will now feature as part of the Healthy Extras category, making it simpler to include them in your daily plan.

Fresh Terminology for a Modern Approach ‘Body Magic’ becomes Slimming World’s active lifestyle programme, and ‘IMAGE Therapy’ will now be known as Slimming World’s support system – clearer, friendlier language for the same great support.

A New Look for a New Era Slimming World is unveiling a fresh logo to reflect its modern, science-backed approach to weight management.

Slimming World’s ethos remains unchanged since its founding in 1969: inspiring people to make lasting healthy habits in a culture of care and respect. With the rise of weight-loss medications, Slimming World’s evidence-based support is more important than ever – whether members choose medication or not, they’ll always find a welcoming, supportive environment in Sue’s group.

Sue adds: “No food has ever been banned at Slimming World. These updates are about making the plan even more flexible and sustainable for real life. Healthy fats are vital for wellbeing, and we want members to feel confident enjoying them.”

So if you’ve been thinking about starting your weight-loss journey, why wait? Sue says: “Starting now means heading into the New Year feeling lighter, healthier, and more confident.
