LOCAL MP Catherine Fookes held an open pop-up surgery at Tesco in Chepstow on Wednesday August 27, giving local constituents a chance to raise their concerns by speaking directly with their Member of Parliament in a relaxed, everyday setting.

Joined by Councillor Dale Rooke, Ms Fookes engaged with shoppers on a wide range of issues, including traffic congestion, animal welfare, cross-border transport and bus pass challenges, and anti-social behavior.

The surgery formed part of her ongoing effort to be as accessible and responsive as possible to the constituents she represents.

“I want to thank everyone who stopped by for a chat today,” said Catherine Fookes MP. “Holding surgeries in places like supermarkets allows me to meet people where they are and hear about the issues affecting their daily lives.

“I’m grateful for the honest conversations and promise that my team and I will follow up on everything raised.”

The informal surgery is part of a series of a local outreach events Ms Fookes is hosting across the constituency, designed to make politics more approachable and to ensure residents’ voices are heard.
