THE Hallowe’en spirit was embraced for a good cause with a pumpkin carving competition held for charity this week.

The Parsons Nose Village Store in Dingestow held the competition for children under the age of 12 with the money raised from entries going to CLIC Sargent, a cancer charity for children and young people.

The competition received 15 entries from children who were able to carve their designs out of pumpkins grown and donated by local man, Geoff Hill.

In total the competition raised £55 for CLIC Sargent. The winner was Mia Elworthy and runner up was Tamsin Ashcroft.
