MADAM, I see that faced with cuts in funding, the response is to appoint expensive consultants to develop a 'strategy'. Can I ask what the county councillors are paid to do? If it is merely to appoint consultants, could we not cut out the middle men here and save ourselves some money? Which could, perhaps, be spent on the museum. Sue Read (Monmouth)
