Monmouth and Abergavenny based estate agents have been given a list and are checking it twice in aid of helping vulnerable people this Christmas.

Parrys are rallying the festive spirit and goodwill to provide gifts for young and vulnerable local people.

The business has been provided with a wishlist where people can choose to donate specific gifts to those less fortunate.

In addition to the list, a JustGiving donation page has been set up for those who would just like to contribute money to the cause and residents are also able to drop gifts in at one of their offices.

Katie Garn, sales negotiator said: "Parrys has always supported local charity events and in previous years, ha taken part several times in the Monmouth Raft Race, a charity catwalk for Monmouthshire Homestart and charities further afield relating to the housing sector.

"In 2018 I personally took part in a trek in Nepal to raise money for homes destroyed by earthquakes. We have also taken part in the Monmouth santa run in previous years and I personally will be taking part this year to raise money for Bees for Development."

In previous years the estate agents have helped with other good causes such as the shoebox appeal and have also attended the sleepout in Cardiff, an evening on the streets of Cardiff sleeping rough to raise money and awareness for the charity.

This time around Parrys has partnered with homeless support charity Llamau.

Based in Wales, Llamau work to eradicate homelessness for young people and vulnerable women. It was founded around 30 years ago to provide homeless teenagers with a safe place to stay.

Katie added: "After speaking directly with Llamau they have carefully compiled a list of gifts that the vulnerable would like to receive this year.

"If we are able, we try to support any local event or a charity within the housing sector as we feel everyone should be entitled to a home. We all feel very strongly, that as we are within the housing sector, this is something we should support and are hoping to work along side Llamau more in the new year to raise as much awareness and funding for them as we can.

"I am always on the look out for events to take part in, as I personally feel we should always support local causes and those in need."
