On early Sunday morning (29th November) at approximately 2.25am, police received reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision at junction two of the motorway.
The male driver, from the Caldicot area, was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
The family of the deceased are now being supported by specially trained officers at this difficult time.
Officers investigating the circumstances of this incident are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact Gwent Police on 101 quoting log 74 29/11/2015.
