CALDICOT Library will welcome the Gwent and the Great War exhibition as the latest in its displays marking the centenary of the First World War.

Comprising of 20 themed boards which cover all aspects of the war including food and rationing, Gwent merchant seamen, refugees in the region, and children, women, sportsmen and more during the conflict.

The touring exhibition has been created through a collaboration between Gwent Archives and the Western Front Association – Gwent branch, with historian Peter Strong organising its stay in Caldicot.

The library has had a display looking at how the First World War affected local communities since August, encouraging people to add family memories to it which has generated a lot of interest from visitors.

The Gwent and the Great War exhibition is only on show for a week from Saturday (1st November).
