SIR,

It was lovely to see the market again at the Shire Hall last Wednesday (8th December). It brought life, warmth and colour to the beautiful old building.

This historic heart of the town is the natural home of the market and the stall-holders should be allowed to return after two-and-a-half years at the bleak cattle market car park, which was always meant to be a temporary measure.

The market is a real asset in the town and so is the Shire Hall, which at the moment looks like a mausoleum and needs the market to bring it to life.

If some of the stall-holders want to stay at the cattle market, let them, but let's have our market back were it belongs and where it serves the town best.
