FACTS and stories gleaned from residents of The Narth have been put together in a fascinating booklet, just published, entitled: The Narth and District: An anecdotal history of the 20th century.

The book, which includes chapters ranging from school and education to myths and legends, has been sponsored by The Narth Village Hall Committee.

A copy has been delivered free of charge to every household in The Narth area, some 170 copies. Several dozen copies have already been bought by local residents to send to friends and relatives as far afield as the USA and Australia.

The book chronicles quite graphically how The Narth changed in the last 40 years of the 20th century from a relatively poor, isolated rural community to a prosperous commuter village.

Anyone interested in obtaining a copy of the book, priced at £4, should contact Gordon Casson on 01600 860054.
