A body found in woodland on Tuesday September 28 near Monmouth has been identified as missing man Andrew Lambert.

Gwent Police confirmed in a statement that "formal identification has taken place and the man has been identified as Andrew Lambert, aged 28, from Monmouth."Gwent Police issued a CCTV image of him carrying a rucksack and bag taken from Abergavenny on Friday, September 24.

He was reported missing on Sunday, September 26, his death is not being treated as suspicious.

His family thanked everyone for helping in the search or by passing on word about his disappearance and said how touched they were by the support of friends and the community.

Tributes have been paid on social media by friends and work colleagues to the "lovely person" with the "biggest heart".

The Coroner’s office has been informed.
