A serial betting office robber who traumatised and terrified staff at the Monmouth branch of Ladbrokes has been jailed for 10 years by Cardiff Crown Court.
Stephen Morgan, 43, who had gambled half a million in recent years, armed himself with "a fearsome weapon" in the form of a carving knife when he walked into Ladbrokes in Monmouth on January 28th and demanded cash.
The Manager Ann Mackie and cleaner Melanie Williams were petrified as he pointed the knife at them.
Morgan appeared to be totally calm and walked out with about £2,000 in cash.
