CHEPSTOW potter Ned Heywood has undertaken one of his big challenges so far, creating a plaque to mark 100 years of the FA.
The gold and black plaque contains real gold, and will be mounted onto the entrance wall of the Grand Connaught Rooms in London. The plaque will be unveiled, possibly by a member of the Royal Family, at a celebration gala dinner on 26th October.
"They approached me to talk about the project in April, but only confirmed four weeks ago. It was a bit nerve-wracking," said Ned.
"There was no time for mistakes, so we had to make a spare."
Ned was one of the only craftsmen in the country capable of such a complex design.
