A building "not fit for its purpose" is how one parent this week described Raglan Primary School after receiving a copy of a survey carried out by Monmouthshire County Council.
The survey revealed a catalogue of faults in both the infant and junior schools, including the discovery of asbestos under the flooring,
Amanda Vaughan, whose son is a pupil at the school, said she learnt of the survey via Raglan Conservation Group, and subsequently obtained a copy from the council under the Freedom of Information Act.
Mrs Vaughan said she was horrified to read in the report that asbestos had been disovered in the cracked vinyl floor tiles in classes in both schools.
